Die Vorteile des Laserschweißens gegenüber dem Lichtbogenschweißen

Das Laserschweißen ist eine äußerst präzise, ​​schnelle und hochenergieeffiziente Schweißtechnik.

Es gibt kein Werkzeug, das so vielfältig einsetzbar ist wie der Laser. Damit lassen sich sehr schnell feine Schweißpunkte mit einem Durchmesser von 0,1 mm erzeugen, aber auch tiefe Schweißnähte von mehreren Metern Länge. Bei minimaler Verformung können sehr feine Nahtgeometrien mit großem Tiefen-Breiten-Verhältnis erzeugt werden. Laser verschweißen Werkstoffe mit hoher Schmelztemperatur sowie solche mit hoher Wärmeleitfähigkeit. Dank ihrer geringen Aufschmelzzeit und der gut kontrollierbaren kurzen Aufschmelzzeit können sie auch Werkstoffe verbinden, die sonst nicht oder nur schwer schweißbar sind. Bei Bedarf können zusätzliche Materialien verwendet werden. Produktdesigner und Prozessingenieure, die Laserschweißen als Alternative zu konventionelleren Schweißarten wie MIG-MAG- oder/und WIG-Lichtbogenschweißen in Betracht ziehen, werden feststellen, dass beide Verfahren ihre Vor- und Nachteile haben. Für die meisten Anwendungen ist das Laserschweißen jedoch eine sauberere, präzisere und kontrolliertere Schweißmethode und vor allem viel schneller und besser kontrollierbar.

Lasers can weld many different types of materials together. Stainless steel, titanium,nickel, aluminum, molybdenum, and Inconel are just a few of the metals that are
well-suited to laser welding. What is important to note, however, is that not all metal combinations are weldable.
Aluminum, for example, can be laser welded. However,only dissimilar grades of aluminum can be welded together due to a high probability of cracking.

This is one area where laser welding differs from conventional welding. In conventional welding, the metals don’t bond directly with one another, but rather with the filler material being used. This can be a major factor in determining whether or not a particular application lends itself to laser welding.
